A reading note
A question can contain several requests without making their boundaries visible. Read your question aloud and notice where it joins different concerns with and, but, or also. Separate those concerns into statements that could receive their own answers. Then decide how the answers would connect. An answer about what happened would not automatically explain why it happened, even if the original question asked for both. Keeping the parts visible lets a conversation make progress without treating a response to a manageable part as a resolution of the whole concern.
Questions to carry forward
- Which different requests are joined together inside the question I have written?
- Could each part receive a useful answer without resolving the others?
- How would I recognize which part of my concern a response actually addresses?
